This privacy policy explains how Metazen Labs Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us", the company behind AgentBandhu) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the AgentBandhu website and application (the "Service"). We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
Our two roles
AgentBandhu serves insurance agents. We handle data in two distinct roles:
- For your account data (the agent signing up), we are the Data Fiduciary and decide how that data is processed.
- For the customer records you upload (your policyholders and their contact details), you, the agent, are the Data Fiduciary. We act only as a Data Processor, handling that data on your documented instructions to deliver the Service.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, mobile number, email address, agency or business name, agent or IRDAI registration code where provided, and a securely hashed password.
- Customer data you add: the names, mobile numbers, dates of birth or anniversary, policy details, premium amounts, tags, and message history of the customers you choose to manage in the Service.
- Payment information: billing records and transaction identifiers. Card, UPI, and bank details are collected and processed directly by our payment gateway, Razorpay. We do not store full payment instrument details.
- Usage and technical data: log data, IP address, device and browser information, and essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and to secure the Service.
How we use data
- To provide the Service, including sending WhatsApp messages, birthday wishes, and renewal reminders to your customers on your instruction.
- To process payments, wallet top-ups, and billing, and to send you service and transactional notices.
- To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep accounts secure.
- To comply with legal, regulatory, and tax obligations.
- To improve the Service using aggregated or de-identified usage trends.
Service providers we use
We share data only as needed to run the Service, with providers bound to protect it:
- Our licensed WhatsApp Business Solution Provider and the Meta WhatsApp Business Platform, to deliver messages. Messaging is also subject to Meta and WhatsApp policies.
- Razorpay, to process payments securely.
- India-region cloud hosting, for application servers, databases, and message archives.
We do not sell personal data. We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or a competent regulator, or to protect our rights and the safety of users.
Data retention
We retain account and customer data for as long as your account is active.
Your rights
Subject to the DPDP Act, you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, withdraw consent, nominate another individual to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance. To exercise these rights, email support@agentbandhu.com. Where we act as a Processor for customer data you control, we will refer such requests to you, the agent, and assist you in responding.
Customer opt-outs
Customers can stop receiving WhatsApp messages at any time by replying to opt out. We honour opt-out signals and pass them through so that further automated messages are suppressed.
Children
The Service is intended for licensed insurance professionals and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly create accounts for minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service or the law evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
